Quick Weight Loss Tips For The Holidays

Now that the holiday period is approaching people are always looking for quick weight loss tips in order to lose a few extra pounds fast and get in better shape for the holiday gatherings. While this is not recommended because fast weight loss can sometimes create other more important health problems, there are certain weight loss tips you can follow to help you get rid of a few pounds quickly. These tips are outlined below:

1. Analyze your diet and remove items (foods and drinks) that are not weight loss friendly. Such items include junk food (burgers, chips, and saucy salads), fried food, red meat, sweets and sugar soft drinks, full fat dairy products and carvings. In their place prefer items that are low in fat and sugars.

2. Try to eat fish and especially tuna. You can accompany your meals with fresh or boiled vegetables.

3. Drink a class of water before your meals and also drink water while taking your meals. This will keep your stomach full and your appetite will be reduced.

4. Eat a good breakfast that can include low-fat milk with cereals and one fruit.

5. Prefer to eat your fruits instead of drinking their juice. This is better because by chewing you burn calories while by drinking fruit juice you consume more calories.

6. Eat slowly and chew your food well. Eating slowly is important because you give more time to your brain to receive the signal from your stomach that you are full. This takes about 20 minutes, so if you eat slowly you will consume fewer calories. By chewing your food good you achieve 2 things. First you burn more energy for carrying out the chewing function and second you assist the digestion process since your body is able to digest food easily.

7. Stay away from all sorts of snacks. If your goal is to lose weight quickly then you need to stay away from all sorts of snacks in between your meals. You should remember that you are following this weight loss plan for a purpose.

8. Eat your last meal at least a couple of hours before going to sleep. This will give time to your body to digest the food and be relaxed during the night.

9. Try to move as much as possible. Walk, use the stairs, and do any manual work that will keep your muscles moving.

10. Perform moderate exercise for 20-30 minutes at least 5 times per week.

If you follow the above 10 tips correctly then for sure you will see some results in very short amount of time. You should be aware though that for long term results you need to follow a more healthy diet plan with fewer restrictions.
