Gluten intolerance is when a person cannot eat gluten which is mainly found in wheat, barley, and rye. The common symptoms are gluten intolerance bloating of the stomach, diarrhea, weight loss, weakness, bone pains, and nutrient deficiencies. The problem with gluten intolerance is that not many people know they have it until it has had a chance to do damage to the body and impede your quality of life. The condition is often called Celiac Disease and is simply a genetic disease that is carried out down through the generations. It is most commonly found in Scandinavian people from northern Europe. In the US, a little less than one percent of people have gluten intolerance.

The thing to watch out for is cancer. People with gluten intolerance who continue to eat wheat, barley, or rye, often run a much higher risk of getting intestinal cancer. If you have intolerance to gluten but do not know it and continue to eat foods that have gluten in them, then you could be putting yourself and your body at risk. There is really only one known way to prevent Celiac disease from being painful, causing unsavory symptoms, and increasing your risk of cancer. The only known preventative measure is to stop eating food with gluten in it. You can find out if you have intolerance for gluten by taking a simple blood test. The blood test will tell you if you have antibodies that are positive to gluten in your body.

If you find out that you have intolerance to gluten you should immediately cut bread, wheat cereal, and other wheat snacks and products out of your diet. For now you should focus on the things that you can eat. While it is a little frustrating to not be able to eat bread and some cakes, it is worth it for the long run.
